Bea is a native Los Angeles ink artist who pulls inspiration from friendship and dating. Pushing boundaries and exploring the commonalities of our lives, she depicts themes of conflict, internal frustrations and love in two-dimensional storytelling.
Beginning as a single panel comic strip in her Bushwick, Brooklyn apartment, Bea began illustrating real-life moments mimicking original Wonder Woman comics. She continued drawing and was featured in Bushwick Open Studios and published her first book by McNally Jackson Books in 2015.
Moving to Los Angeles, she saw her work grow and change as she expanded to watercolor and acrylic, eventually fusing her love of color with black-and-white images to create her current work, The Betties.
In addition to working on canvas and paper, she branched off into the digital art world and created an emoji sticker app, Tisky & While, which is currently available on iTunes. Bea is currently working on new series and mediums to share her ideas with the world.
Bea holds an A.A. in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, a B.A. in Psychology from Pace University, and an M.S. in Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine from the University of Southern California. In addition to her love of art and science, Bea also enjoys yoga, reading and traveling.
